Ulli, if you want a definitive answer, contact me back-channel. As far as general differences, the CRCA breaks it down a bit more into tidal and non-tidal waters I believe (CRCA is supported near the Great Lakes area, you know). Also, the CRCA has more of a "journeying" component built in, which is a pain for instructors/certifiers, as they have to take candidates out on an overnight trip, perhaps even mulit-day.
