RWMCT asks:"While we are on the subject of paddle float rescues and
different paddles,
has anyone any experience using a Greenland paddle with a paddle float,
particularly for a re-enter and roll? "

Rolling is so much easier with a Greenland that if you have a fairly good
roll to begin with, I'll bet you won't need the paddle float for the R&R.
(And if you keep practicing your roll, you'll likely find that you won't
need it for a R&R with a Euro paddle either - I think the roll is actually
easier with the boat partly in the water. )

However - as far as I know there's nothing at all which would prevent a
person from using a paddle float with a Greenland. The only caveat would be
that you need an inflatable paddle float, and the you'd need to inflate it
firmly. If you feel the need of a tether for a Greenland, there's nothing
to prevent you from rigging one which would (effectively) be a single line
up to the proximal end of the longer Greenland blade, and then would tie or
Velcro around the slightly narrower shaft.
