A guiding principle in dealing with people such as Tim is one that I learned
the hard way.
That principle is : Do not not waste your time and mental health trying to
reason with
unreasonable people.

I spent three years trying to be reasonable with a neighbor
who proved to be completely unreasonable and mean. I finally took her to
court. Had
I taken steps in that direction from the start she may have corrected her
behavior after
seeing that the game was up. I have since learned that several other
neighbors had run-ins
with her as did the mail carrier and the UPS guy.

One or two attempts at reasoning is good. But, when a person proves to be
incapable
of rational thought, you might as well bang your head against the
proverbial wall as to
continue attempts at meaningful dialogue.

Bill, who really hates loud barking whether from
dogs or people.
