The tool I use to pry foam seats, hip braces and kneebraces out is an icing spatula, a kitchen utensil that has a broad, flexible, rounded tip. You can pry foam components out with only minor damage to the foam, even if they have been completely glued as well as possible. Ken Rasmussen, responding to: "Actually, I am trying a new technique: "dots" (about 1/2 inch in diameter) of 3M's ScotchWeld (3532) two-part polyurethane adhesive near the corners of the seat. I figure I can easily slide a single-edged razor blade under an edge to remove the seat if I need to reposition it . When I'm sure the seat is done, I will use more of this stuff. The article describes a method of learning sea kayaking skills and technique that differs from the norm, which would help a beginner to become expert--at least regarding technique--quickly. Can anyone suggest other publications it would be appropriate to send such an article to? I was thinking of Wavelength, but I don't know if they pay, and it is more fun to get paid.
