I remember cutting myself on the hand quite badly and feeling very
satisified that I had a first aid kit. Trouble is sticking plaster doesn't
stay on in the water and the combination of saltwater and paddling kept the
woumd open until I started to feel quite giddy. The minor injury became a
major embarassment. Nowadays always include duct tape and a gauze pad in the
kit - much better than sticking plaster on the water.

All the best, PeterO

Peter, I don't know how easy it is to get 3M products down under, but they
make some waterproof, breathable "band-aid" type plasters. I've used them
paddling and they really work well on relatively smooth flat skin. I haven't used
them on an tricky area like between thumb and fingers.

Mike
