I get out every Good Friday for an easter weekend paddle, as it is a better place to reflect on the possible literal reality of Jesus Christ and his alleged resurrection. If it did happen, it was a way cool sacrifice, and one I prefer to ponder in nature, rather than in some stuffy church with a preacher practicing his social engineering experiments with sheep control. Anyway, two years ago I was rushing off to the put in site, trying to catch the morning wind vs tide chop, when a rabbit ran across in front of my speeding car. Bye bye Easter Bunny. I felt awful. And unlike our departed Rev Bob, I'm not pulling your leg. This year, in an effort to live up to my reputation as being fully prepared for every conceivable eventuality, I carried an extra backup in the trunk. I'm proud to say my driving has improved, and I did not hit one of the many spring bunnies we have here on the lower island. Maybe next year I'll be able to use the can of hair spray I borrowed from my wife. The label on the can says: "Hair spray. Restores life to dead hair." Happy Easter to one and all, for those who celebrate it and/or have time off work so are able to get out for some extra paddling.
