I have two ICOM handhelds-- one battery-operated, one chargable. I've used
them on the water to communicate a few miles. RECEPTION can be good for up to
thirty miles, which is helpful for weather reports in some parts of the world.

My partner and I will take them to Scandanavia this summer to paddle the
Turku Archipelago in the Baltic Sea and the Lofoten and Vestralen Islands in
Norway. I don't know if they'll be legal, but I know I'll be safer for them.
If I get arrested, I'm just a dumb American tourist...

Anybody have any reflections on paddling in Scandanavia? Weather channels,
paddle reports, etc.?
