Thanks to Wes for sharing his nasty experience. Also a huge pat on the back for being able to restrain himself and repost the incident to law enforcement. I strongly doubt I would have been able to exercise this good judgement had I been in the same situation.

As a cyclist that rides thousands of miles a year I have beer cans flying out windows at me and cars harrassing me several times a year. Only a couple have connected in over 10 years, but it is definitely considered 'assault with a deadly weapon' to law enforcement. Its hard to get liscense plate numbers off those speeding mud spattered pickups that are usually the origin of the missiles.
Anyway, its assault, don't let the guy get off with a slap on the hand!

One point, seems like they were staying well within their abilities, if it hadn't been for their encounter with the PWC operator? That close to shore and with such warm air at worst they would have had to ditch their boats and swim to shore, where they would have been wet but not cold.

Keep paddling! Remember, take your VHF radio, cell phone and/or PWC operator seeking missiles.
