the problem with 6mm is you can't move well in it. You can add fuzzy rubber 
or some such but you just get bulkier without a real increas in "wet" 
protection while still able to paddle. It is exhausting to fight your own 
clothes while paddling. I know that is what cuts us from the usual 14-16 
miles to 10-12 when we are all zipped up in the dry suits. I'm out of breath 
just getting on the water in that thing.
