I got to play with a wing paddle (again) briefly yesterday at the Georgian Bay
Symposium. The owner (who got it second hand off of a certain JW) wanted to
try my new Lendal crankshaft, so we traded for a while.

Kevin's comment are especially true for wings. You can fight them all you want,
but if you want to go fast, let them go their own way. They seem to direct
themselves through the water. Interesting, but I'll stick to the more conventional
paddles*.

They suck at almost everything else - bracing, sculling etc. I tried a flipflop
sculling technique (high brace one, way low brace back) but it's more trouble
than it's worth.
