First point - it only works with unfeathered paddles. In a feathered
paddle, one
blade won't fit under the coaming or alternatively, won't lie on the water
surface.<<<<<<

To give credit where it is due, this rescue was developed and the article
written about it in Sea Kayaker was by Tom Cromwell (a member of paddlewise
most known for occasional short sarcastic remarks). The paddle tip does
leave a lot of scratches in your gelcoat and a wide low coaming rim could
break the paddle tip so check out that possibility before trying it.
