The thread is getting technical, true, and some of it consists of
highly suspect physics -- of b*ll sh*t, not to put too fine a point
on it.

But the thread is redeemed by postings from such people as
Matt Broze and John Winters (see John's 05-19 7:20 am
message, for example), who know what they're talking about.
So I say let's keep the thread going! Maybe rename it "Paddle
design - technical" or something like that, so people who don't
want to read the message can delete it quickly.
