James, that was a very nice apology ... and you were very generous to offer it
so willingly.

The "scientific" analysis of paddle efficiency has been fascinating to me, as
much as a sociological phenomenon as a technical one, although I have learned
some things and now am curious to try a narrow paddle, even perhaps a
Greenlander style one!

Thanks to Peter, Nick, Michael, Mel, Bob, John, you, and the several others who
have contributed.

I have yet to read Bob Myers analysis, which jsut arrived here, and would have
already, but Doug Lloyd is in town, and due here any minute ... more anon.
