Aspect ratio is merely the ratio of length to width.

In this case, we're talking about the paddle blades.  A high aspect ratio
paddle blade is long and relatively narrow, and a low aspect ratio blade
is short and relatively wide.

It's not specific to a greenland paddle, canoe paddle, etc., it's just
one measure of blade shape.
