[Paddlewise] FW: Tide Tables

Hi There,
	Re the tide tables. I've used this program for three years. It has proved
to be accurate in Victoria. B.C. and environs. It has also proved accurate
for Vancouver Island's West coast. Tofino. I spent a week paddling there
last fall and printed out the weeks tide graphs before I went. I now live on
Thetis Island, and from my own observation of the local tides it still
appears to be accurate.
	I was first attracted to this windows program because it has been under
development and improvement for some time. 5 years. It in turn is based on a
UNIX tide program which has a good reputation. I found for instance that in
Victoria, it has a seperate location for the Gorge. It's only a mile up from
the Victoria Harbour, but the tide difference can be as much as three hours
and the overfall generated by a narrowing of the Gorge makes it impassable.
I found it very useful to be able to pinpoint those occurences when I ran
the kayak rental fleet for Ocean River Sports.
	It's freeware. It's worth downloading to see if it works for you.

Chris, I've not had any experience with this particular tide engine, but had
bad experience with others.
Can you tell us how you verified that it was OK?
