Steve, one alternative to consider is the Feathercraft K-Light (new if you can find one, they stopped making to replace with the Kahuna, or used for a reduced price) or the Kayuna. Both would fit your wife. The Kahuna tracks better from all reports. If you can, it is worth a demo paddle. These have the advantage of being stored indoors in a closet when not in use. :-) --Mel-- =^..^= http://home.earthlink.net/~mslammers bagboater_at_yahoogroups.com http://www.mellammers.net http://www.geocities.com/mslammers Original Message Date: Fri, 25 May 2001 09:29:08 -0700 From: "Steve Holtzman" <sh_at_actglobal.net> Subject: [Paddlewise] Boat recommendation needed My wife has decided to move up from her SOT to a "real" kayak. We are looking for a boat for her. She loves the way my CD Gulfstream looks but it is too big for her (5'4" ~120 lbs). I suggested the CD Slipstream, but after she read an email that she received in response to her questions from CD, she has ruled that boat out (supposedly less stable than the Gulfstream, doesn't track as well because of more rocker, etc. We have rented a Perception Shadow in fiberglass for her to try this weekend, but she doesn't like the rudder on it. Has anybody paddled this boat without a rudder and if so what do you think? Any other recommendations are welcome!!
