Hi, I' m reporter for an online animal healthcare magazine called
VetCentric (see http://www.vetcentric.com) and I'm working on an article
about taking pets on your boat. I saw some information about this subject
on your website and was wondering if you'd be willing to answer a few
questions, either by e-mail or phone. If you are interested, I have
included my questions below so please send me your responses or spend me
your phone number and the best time to call. My deadline is Monday morning.
 Thanks for your time.

1) First of all what is your first and last name, town and state; and what
kind of pet do you have?

2) When did you first decide to take your pet on a boat? Did he or she like
it at first? Was he scared? How did you get her used to the boat?

3) Do you think any dog can be taught to like boats? How can others tell if
their dog will make a good boating buddy?

4) Do you know many people who also take their pets on board? Why do they
like having their pet along? What are the benefits? What do they do about
taking the pets to the bathroom?

5) Are there different sizes of lifejackets available for cats, little dogs
and large dogs? Do the animals object to wearing them? Do you recommend a
certain type as being safer or easier to use? Do you have to get the
animals used to the jackets? If so what tips do you have?

6) Do the animals enjoy riding on the boat? Do you know any cats that go on
boats?

7) Are there any other precautions or equipment needed to bring a pet on a
boat?

8) Is there anything else you feel is important to add?

Thanks again!
Sincerely,
Christina Mehra

Hi folks,

Christina first sent me her message and since I can't speak for all
dogs about what they think of water and boats and the two together, I
invited her to send her questions here. For one, I'd be very
interested in reading about what she finds out. And maybe, if we are
real nice, she'll post her results here. :-)

Cheers,

Jackie
