My Seguin is for sale. She's a 17 ft 10 in (length) X 22 in sea/touring kayak built in 1998-1999 using the S&G okume-glass-epoxy laminate technique. Designer is Rob Bryan. Since I originally built her for touring in Maine's rocky waters she's built for strength, weighing 54 lbs. Sides and bottom completely refinished summer 2000. This is a beautiful boat, a *very* fast boat which tracks well and turns surprisingly well for a boat of her length. She can be rolled with relative ease - not as easily as my Romany, but much more easily than any of the CLC boats except perhaps the 20 inch North Bay. Bulkheads and VCP hatches are absolutely watertight. Retractable skeg. The design was modified slightly to eliminate the weathercocking seen with some Seguin boats, and this particular one is just about wind-neutral up to winds of 15 kts, at which point some edging will keep her on track. Good storage room for a week's trip, longer trip if you pack carefully. She can be seen and paddled here in central NY - or for those who are seriously interested, we may be able to arrange a short trip for demo. Asking $800.
