John Heath's older "Qajaq Klubben" video, narrated in Greenlandic, provides excellent footage of Greenlanders performing forward strokes, students learning to roll and Manasse Mathaeussen performing advanced rolls. This excellent video is often overlooked. There is a rough, "home-grown" video that documents Maligiaq's first appearance in the U.S., including rolls and rope gymnastics, by Marilyn Vogel. I've received word that highlights from the excellent footage of last year's Greenland championship may be made available to the public through KNR TV/Radio (Greenland). Doug is an excellent paddler and his stroke method is quite different than what Greenlanders Maligiaq Padilla and Kaleraq Bech have been teaching in the U.S. Although I prefer the "canted stroke" (top edge of paddle tilted forward), there is no one "proper" Greenland technique, and variations flourish.
