Evan,

I stopped by Ross once coming back from Barkley Sound and passed on paddling there for your
aforementioned reasons.

If you want to drive a little further, there are a slew of great lakes in the Kootenays. Trout
Lake was my favorite. Kootenay is the biggest and I got pummeled with 3 foot steep waves. In a
good way. It's v. pretty country up there.

p.s. Kyuquot Sound was dreamy. All but the 10 mile home stretch back to the car into a 25 mph
wind. It ceased to be funny after 7 miles. Got back just as the sun was downing after 11 hours
of paddling (I doodled 'round the first half of the day).

I saw Doug Lloyd's voiture and bateau in Victoria. The tires were already flat, I swear.
