Weird story!

What is the reason to say some is true and some isn't?  Left as a 
made-for-the-internet tale it would have some poetical sense to it.  Told as 
a "true" recollection of what was told by the old guy it would have the 
allure of making the reader decide at what level to accept it.

You ruined it for me by making it a game.

And I respectfully disagree with your notion that written hitory is some how 
more valid.  I believe that historians could tell you that written history 
is only more rigid than oral history, not more accurate.  We in the law 
business can attest to the fact that no two witnesses see or experience the 
same thing.  It is, in my opinion, a Western bias that the written word is 
sacred.

A good story hits the heart.  Yours hit mine until your disclaimer.  But 
thanks anyway, it was fun to read.
