Out of curiosity what kind of advice did he have to give specifically for kayakers? I am interested because from what you are saying it doesn't sound like he is a paddler. ralph diaz *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s). I honestly don't remember specifics but there was a good article in the Paradise Paddlers newsletter. I'll see if I can find it. no, he definitely wasn't a paddler I believe he showed us a whistle that is way below the standards of the likes of Storm/Fox 40. I mentioned this as something others in paddling clubs might want to arrange. sandy kramer *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s). He came by one day when either I was alone or with only one or two others and I suggested that he might want to come back on a Wed. when most of the members where there. I let him do his inspection of my boat and was given a clean bill of safety or whatever it is. He seemed quite impressed with the safety gear fetish I seemed to be infected with and returned a couple of Wednesdays later. When he returned a couple of Wednesdays later, I suspect he got more education on the issues of kayak safety than he even though could exist. He talked with one of our strongest safety proponents and others passed through the conversation. We can both be educated by them and educate them too. It is a very harmonious relationship of people/groups dedicated to safe uses of the water.
