Recently, I made a Tuiliq to use with the Hooper Bay boat I made. Haven't made the opportunity to try the Tuiliq in the water as yet, but I'll get there. I'd like to make another one for the Baidarka I built a few years ago. This time I'd like to use a regular pattern to work from. I've checked out the pattern in "The Aleutian Kayak" (Wolfgang Brink) and it looks like it would be OK. I was wondering if anyone out there had made their own, and if so do you have any hints, patterns, etc., you wouldn't mind passing along. The first (and only one to date) Tuiliq I made started out looking similar to a poncho, to which I added sleeves and a modified hood. Thanks........Russell *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s).
