They may have been carbon, not alkalines for 24 for $7. BTW I just received my Techna 3 C cell 7 LED flash light and I am really impressed. I paid $32 for it on the net and it is extremely bright with a 40 hour battery life. It doesn't have a long focused beam like a halogen but it throws a very even white blue-white light ideal for most kayaking and camping situations. An added benefit is that the light is very distinctive and would attract attention when used for signaling. The light appears to be made like their dive lights, designed for the SEALs with a typical dive light wrist strap and waterproof to well below where you'd ever go. When I first posted my white LED flashlight experiments on Paddlewise a few years ago, these white LEDs were almost $10 direct from the manufacturer, Nichea. This light comes with 7 LEDs, 3 C cells and a strap for $32! cya *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s).
