I recommend you buy a sewing machine and start practicing with it. Sewing a
paddle bag is easy; In less then a day you should be able to make one,
without ever having used a sewing machine before. After that, you can start
modifying sprayskirts, anoraks and PFD's. When you've managed that you are
ready to start making your own fleece paddle clothing.

I've bought a sewing machine 3 years ago and taught myself to make my own
paddleclothing, being tired of all the expensive misfits I had been wearing.
It is well worth the cost and the effort.
