Other than big surf, I'd say the right folder is appropriate for all
those conditions. After all, Hannes Lindemann made the greatest sea
kayak ever undertaken in a 1950s vintage Klepper.

I've never tried to roll a Khat, but Randy Henricksen tells me it's not
terribly difficult. I've seen photos of people rolling a Klepper single
and double.

For, the folding aspect is a large part of the attraction, but so is
performance and ruggedness. Folders can take a lot more punishment than
can hardshell boats. A collision that would render a hardshell useless
might only result in some easily field repairable broken frame parts in
a folder.
