Hello Tina:
I suppose from your web address you are somewhere in North America.
I live in Victoria, the Australian State North of Tasmania across Bass
Strait. I have bushwalked, rockclimbed, and traveled Tassie since age 18
(now 50). Unfortunately, I have not yet paddled there, but intend to.
Here are some paddling websites to visit for info:
http://www.tassie.net.au/~lford/index.htm#links Laurie Ford is an Australian
sea kayaking legend. Hard core talent. I think Laurie has been known to take
visiting travelers paddling. You might try emailing him.

http://www.roaring40skayaking.com.au/ I have friends who were very satisfied
with the folding kayak rental and service they received on a trip to Port
Davey in Tasmania's South West from Roaring 40's.

Tasmania has a huge array of interesting outdoor experiences. Try the Lonely
Planet guidebooks, found through

If you like to walk, the "Overland Track" , a North - South walk from Cradle
Mountain to Lake St. Clair, is a classic, must-do. Frenchman's Cap is worth
considering, and the South Coast track, and the Western Arthurs, and so many
other places.
Tassie is a great place. You can't go wrong with a trip there. Good luck.
Peter Treby
