[Paddlewise] Downsizing plus Need Scupper Pro info

I've been trying to be a good girl and downsize the fleet a wee bit. It's a
real bugger when I have to bring them all inside during hurricane scares.

The rear deck has now been cleared of the Old Town Canoe's Dimension Solo.
Remember the disabled paddler story in July. Craig was delighted that he
could paddle by himself, but he lives about 1 1/2 hours away and I've been
feeling guilty for not taking him out again.

I solved the problem by donating the boat to Shake-A-Leg, an organization
that provides boating opportunities for disbled paddlers. Craig is able to
use public transportation to get to SAL.

When I emailed the photo of Craig in the Solo to the "manager" at SAL
(paraplegic) he said he was looking forward to trying it out himself.

so, I got a lot of good feelings out of that "good deed."

that left the Pamlico....no buyers but my pal Marinell tried one out and
offered a trade with her Scupper Pro. she gets lots of visitors and wanted a
tandem boat.

The SP is newer than the Pamlico, but I gave her a lot of accessories,
including min and regular spraydecks, cockpit cover, wooden paddle, and
hanging straps. I reckoned I had $1,000 in it and the SP with a rudder comes
out to about the same.

So......I now have another heavy mother in the fleet. We're both short but
with two ladders we were able to load it on the minivan with the Thule J
Stackers. It looks HUUUUUUUGE up there. I honestly don't think I could even
take it off by myself.

The plus size is that i now have a larger-than-my-12'-Hobie Pursuit for trips
on the ocean. The next two trips are Turner River and Loxahatchee River, so
the Hobie will be just fine for that.

It's really nice to have the two large hatches, but shouldn't the SP have
flotation bags inside?
