"Hi All, Could anyone recommend a thermal skull cap/hood to help with hypothermia? Preferably one that is not as restrictive as the neoprene divers types. Thanks, Peter Rattenbury, Australia. " Peter, have you tried the thinner, 2 mm neoprene surfers beanies? Quite a few surfer's use them here in Victoria, maybe they are not as widespread up your way with the warmer water. I have one with a Velcro fastened strap. Cost about $35.00. I know RipCurl make one, they have a website http://www.ripcurl.com.au/, search "classic surf cap", $39.95. These things cover your ears, so I find them a pest to wear for too long. I leave it in the day hatch and pull it out for rolling sessions in winter, or breezy conditions. The diver's hoods I've tried are too thick and hard to get on.
