I went through this a while back. I think the question for me was how strong 
an I? Anything that can jerk me at 300lbs will probably be more than I can 
handle. I think I might want something to break loose at some point, anyway. 
So far, I've done fine with my rig with tandems with 2 big, beginner paddlers 
in mild winds. They are swishing back and forth behind me. My rig is fine and 
I'm fine, just frustrated. I don't really know what the pressure on the rope 
is but I've used it many times at this point with no problems.
