Hi John and Steve, et.al., After paddling a few years with a variety of "clubs", I bought a Lightning Standard Tour. When I first used it (graduating from the clubs), it felt like it fluttered a little. This worried me but I decided to stick with it. In a very short time, the fluttering went away. In reality, I think the paddle trained me. I've never tried a MidSwift. I love my Lightning and, if I lost it tomorrow, I'd go out and get another one ASAP. I guess the bottom line here is: "Give the new paddle some time." Naturally, we'd (at least me) would like you to report back to see if the paddle trains you.
