I'm looking for a great book on Wilderness Survival. If possible, I'd like
to have one book that covers it "all" (whatever "all" is) in a well
presented easy to read format, preferrably with lots of good, clear
illustrations. I'm talking about making shelter, finding/collecting water,
etc. So, whats the recognized "bible" of WIlderness Survival"?

Then, I'd like the same in terms of a First Aid book - how to splint a
broken arm, how to stop bleeding, how to bandage a deep cut, etc. What is
the "bible" here?

Any and all recommendations, comments, suggestions, will be very much
appreciated.

Thanks

Rick

Have you looked at the US Army Survival Guide?

Wilderness Medicine by William Forgey is my preference.

I have a copy of "a" US Army survival guide (are there multiple versions?).
It's dated 1970. It's not with me at the moment so I can't tell you the
code number on it.
