Looks like there was good surfing in Duluth last week. For pictures of the wave action, which swept away 100 feet of the Lakewalk, see http://www.duluthshippingnews.com/waves.html. Meanwhile, the lakes are still open in the Twin Cities. We have had 37 days in a row of above normal temperatures. My thermometer read 58 degrees F. at 7:00 a.m. today -- our normal *high* for today is about 31 degrees! The eight inches of snow that fell last week is gone today, as is the thin scum of ice that formed on the ponds over the weekend.
