Ok, Great advice. Now I just have to pick through it and decide. I wish my juicy rationalization about the radio serving double duty in my truck had been feasible. It would have been easier getting it passed Congress (the wife). But seeing as I live three hrs inland I don't think anyone would be listening anyway. I didn't think there was a difference between regular CBs and marine CBs, but then again there is a rhyme and reason for most regulations. I wonder if most radio battery packs can be upgraded to the non memory type of rechargeables. I had never heard of that type. Where do most of you carry the radio? Do you attach it to your PFD? To bring up the book "Deep Trouble" again, people really seemed to get in trouble when they became separated from their kayaks which also contained their signal/distress equipment. Thanks for the info......
