Hello Chuck, Terraserver and the NOAA/NOS sites were mentioned, but for even closer range detailed aerial photography, I've found a very nice site for my state (WA State, USA). I'm not sure about how other states and/or countries handle this, but in Washington State, the Dept. of Ecology has a site where you can follow, image by image, aerial photographs of all the state's *saltwater* coastlines (islands included). Perhaps there is a similar service where ever you are - or for where you're interested in. The Photos are clear, quite close up, and in color (it was easy for me to find my house). Here's the site for WA State: http://www.ecy.wa.gov/apps/shorephotos/ To get this, as well as the NOAA/NOS sites to work properly, you'll need to enable Java Scripting for your browser. I would be really interested to hear from people in other US states, as well as in any other country, about similar coastal aerial photo sites/services for their areas.
