Thanks Melissa, on behalf of other New Zealanders on PaddleWise, for your
thoughts on Peter Blake.  According to news reports  he died defending his
crew and his boat from the pirates, which is about as heroic as it gets. I
think small nations like NZ  tend to especially nurture our heroes.  And as
our Prime Minister, Helen Clark has noted,  Sir Peter was to the sailing
fraternity as Sir Edmund Hillary is to the mountaineers of the world.
