Pink flamingos pulling a kayak on the front lawn??? I LOVE IT! It is sooo tacky. I'm sure my neighbors' kids would love it and our condo commandos aren't as bad as Marinell's - especially since I was voted in because no one else showed up to the last meeting! Now, if I can only work up the courage to buy pink flamingos.... The Paradise Paddlers did a last minute "decorate your boat" and paddled near the Key Largo boat parade this year. Next year they want to actually join the parade. I already bought some after-xmas 75%-off decorations and battery-operated lights. Now I'll have to see what other decorations I can pick up cheap to do a front lawn thing. Of course, I'll need a red boat, so maybe Marinell can be persuaded to sell me back the wee red Kiwi Lobo...... Does anyone have ideas or photos/descriptions of similar holiday displays with a kayaking theme? Bet a whole bunch of you bought the neat paddling/camping/birding xmas ornaments that came out. Wyoming River Raiders had them on the back of their catalog for $7 - $6 if you bought four or more. A friend gave me a sea kayak ornament, and I rushed to buy the paddle, PFD, backpack, & binoculars. Paid $7.99. Then I went to Florida Bay Outfitters and they had them for $5.99...only had a very few left. So I bought the dome tent. They also make a WW kayak in the series. tropical sandy kramer who is freezing her buns off in 40-degree (F) weather *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s).
