[Paddlewise] Cats and Dogs

    My old cat, who will not come in the house ever, loves to sleep in my
overturned rec kayak.  One day I was loading it onto the roof to go fishing
when that fat old cat came spilling out of it just as I hoisted it up about
shoulder high.  He looks like a raccoon so I jumped back dropping the boat
almost squishing him in the process.  


    My 110 lb Lab likes to go out in the rec boat.  Its interesting getting
him back into it when he jumps out for reasons only retrievers understand and
you are quite far from land.  He always puts a mean list into the boat making
it interesting to get where you are going. 


    Has anyone looked into taking a few hundred plastic pink flamingos and
recycling them into a touring boat? My daughter would love to paddle it in her
Barbie PFD. Maybe Werner would donate a custom pink paddle? 


    I think winter is getting to me.  Time for a drink.  I better wait 12
minutes until its after noon.  My dog is with me so I am not drinking alone. I
love a good rationalization.
