If you're looking for some other real good safety books, check out "Sea

Kayak Rescue" by Roger Schumann & Jan Shriner as well as the new 2 volume

video that Wayne Horodowivh has out called "Capsize Recoveries & Rescue

Procedures".

I have both the book and the video and have read the book at least 4 times

and am currently watching the video for about the 4th time.

I paddle every week with 4 - 6 other paddlers and we routinely hold rescue

practices every month. Since all of us are active in the local kayak club,

we always send an invitation to anybody that wants to practice to join us.

Sadly, we only get about 7 - 8 additional people attending these practice

sessions out of a club of 200 plus members. I guess everybody else is a

better paddler than we are because they don't need to practice their skills

or learn new ones.

First book I ever read on sea kayaking. Recommended by my instructors (BCU)
