Mike VanDamm states that fuzzy rubber should be tested in cold water, as it
will "flood."

This is the exact experience I have had with mine. As long as I stay above
the water, it's an excellend wind-breaker, and it's soft and comfy. But it's
not tight like neoprene, so is next to worthless when immersed.

Kirk--is this better??

I just talked with Dana at Rapid Style. I ordered a (low floatation)
PFD for squirting. She said the web site would be updated by Monday.
She is updating the colors and increasing the line of woman's
clothing.

She really is a nice person to deal with.

With all this talk of fuzzy rubber I remembered I bought a black long
sleeved jacket last year that's to big for me. I got it over the
winter and used it in the pool everything seemed OK. Then I tried it
outside and found the sleeves were just a little big for my arms.
It's been worn a total of maybe 5 times. It's a 2001 model that
didn't change for this year. new it was 139.00 and I would 75.00
plus 5,00 shipping. here's a link for the sizing.

Yes, she is. She's also the only United States whitewater paddler
to have two Olympic medals in her sock drawer (or wherever she keeps
them). Her first run on the Ocoee (Atlanta 1996 Games) was terrible,
but she came back with an AWESOME second run to take silver...and ended
up .01 seconds from gold.

I don't doubt that if she came out of retirement that she'd make the
US team again. She's just amazing.

I am so far behind on "list mail"!

I have been wearing Rapid Style for a few years now - fuzzy rubber - and
love it. It does have it's time and place, but I'm a 5'2" female and I
find it fits me just fine!

More power to Dana, I also think she is just great and love supporting
however I can.

It should be relatively snug, like neoprene and not loose like a
favorite fleece sweater. If it is not snug, water movement inside
the Aqua Shell will decrease the effectiveness. Don't forget it
is designed as a replacement for neoprene in mild (not cold) submerged
environments and is used in light diving suits. If you're wearing
it loose, you've got the wrong size.
