Tribalance Kayak, This is to me, a neat boat! Glad I caught the messages concerning this one. I live beside some secluded/calm waters of Puget Sound. It has been, and still is my hope to at least get out there on quiet days this year, to get a paddle in the water. Though my proper seakayak [NWK Pursuit] has been sold, my paddles, PFD, etc... have not. It took me about 3 years to accept that I am usually better off with a cane, and so I am experimenting with making them. Anyway-John's design may offer me a direction to go from my Old Town Loon [29in beamed rec. boat] in the future. For me I suspect that 2 hours on the water will be a "long trip." <shrug> That's okay. I have my marine vhf, can finally read a tide table and chart, listen to NOAA even when I'm not paddling<g> and landfall is close [I live in "East Bremeton" across a small stretch of water from Bainbridge Island. The Pursuit was sold with a cheapie paddle and that is all-the rest I kept.<g> The park I will put in at, is beside my home [Illahee State Park].
