Hi folks, I'm looking for feedback regarding Nick Schade's design for the Great Auk, especially from people who have built it. You may guess that I am looking closely at taking on the project soon. Some of the things that I like about the design: apparently stable design, long water line, nearly vertical bow and stern, apparently good tracking. I'm used to a narrower boat, and I'm wondering if other people have found this design to be "beamy." One of the strongest appeals for me at this point is that the lines of the Great Auk appear to allow for relatively simpler stripping. Is this actually so? Thanks in advance, Bill Oetjen *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s).
