I decided a while back to go with the Gore-Tex drytop and nylon drypants like Jen's. It seems to work really good. I had a rough day this fall and managed to swim a good part of Glenwood Canyon on the Colorado in the combo and didn't have hardly any water get in. I just like the versatility of being able to mix and match gear as the weather requires. I use a Kokatat drytop and have found that their latex seals are a little softer and stretch without trimming. If you pick a nice warm day to wear your jacket, the gaskets stretched out to be very comfy by lunch. I use a Stohlquist drypant and the seals are pretty tough on it. So a little trimming to fit is necessary. However, the waist band is really comfy and seals with the double tunnel on the jacket very nicely. I didn't get the breathable pants and if the day gets really warm, you do get a bit of moisture build-up inside. Still, nothing that is uncomfortable. Buying on sale, I paid about 330 for the two. The literature claims that saltwater will not affect breathability and that it even breaths underwater. I would hate to be under long enough to find out :) Hope this helps.
