[Paddlewise] Naked vs. street clothes

In reality, ANY covering over your skin helps conserve heat.  Even holding
perfectly still has a fairly sizeable effect.  Think of the molecules of
water that are touching your skin.  If you have anyway of keeping them
still, you will be conserving heat.  This is the principle of a wetsuit.

My choice (descending order) of what to wear while swimming in wintertime
Alaska waters would be drysuit/ wetsuit/ street clothes/ naked.
