I've finally won a long battle with Amie over fabric softener!

It coats the fibers in the fabrics and prevents them from working
as intended.  This could mean, for example, a reduction in wicking 
potential or inhibiting the anti-bacterial coatings that prevent 
odors.

Keep the fabric softener for cottons and such, but never use it
on techy fabrics.
