Craig, I have a Wild Wasser NYLON skirt that I sent back to the factory to have them tighten up. They asked for my exact cockpit measurements and exactly how tight I wanted the skirt. This skirt does not come off ever--unless I grab the grab loop and physically pull it off. There is an implosion bar built in and I don't know how much that contributes. I do know that I have had waves break on top of me, I have capsized in rough dumping surf--and this skirt does NOT come off--until I release it. The first time I did a wet exit in it, I had to specifically think about why I wasn't able to just fall out of the cockpit. Probably too tight for most people now--but I love it.
