Check out the "Eternalight", a fun small waterproof SOS/strobe/flashlight.
One such lives in my PFD pocket. I have carried it around for months
without a problem but can't endorse its practicality or robustness
otherwise. It is not obviously marked as meeting 46CFR161.013
It can be seen at http://www.theledlight.com/eterna-light.html
and http://www.techass.com/el/el1.php
