Tribalance Kayak,

This is to me, a neat boat! Glad I caught the messages concerning this
one. I live beside some secluded/calm waters of Puget Sound. It has been,
and still is my hope to at least get out there on quiet days this year, to
get a paddle in the water.

Though my proper seakayak [NWK Pursuit] has been sold, my paddles, PFD,
etc... have not. It took me about 3 years to accept that I am usually
better off with a cane, and so I am experimenting with making
them. Anyway-John's design may offer me a direction to go from my Old Town
Loon [29in beamed rec. boat] in the future.

For me I suspect that 2 hours on the water will be a "long trip."
<shrug> That's okay. I have my marine vhf, can finally read a tide table
and chart, listen to NOAA even when I'm not paddling<g> and landfall is
close [I live in "East Bremeton" across a small stretch of water from
Bainbridge Island. The Pursuit was sold with a cheapie paddle and that is
all-the rest I kept.<g> The park I will put in at, is beside my home
[Illahee State Park].

I think so, too. I may yet end up with one. I've had three boats,
currently in a Cobra SOT Expedition. I find it really hard to turn, but I
haven only been out in it 6 times, so a little practice and
experimentation with the rudder and leaning the boat may improve things.
I'm really not an open ocean adventurer having probably done half my
trips in the last 3 years on the Elkhorn Slough. I really like gliding
along and taking pictures of the birds and animals. Don't think one could
have a more comfortable stable platform for that than the Tribalance. As
I get older that looks more and more desireable.

You're welcome, do let me know if you get one, how you like it. I may end
up getting one in the so far futile effort to get my wife to try paddling
with me.
