I'd only heard about drinking urine anectodally. Is it
actually a viable survival technique? Would urine be good
for flushing out a wound? >

Drinking urine would not be a good survival technique. Although a well
hydrated person may pass relatively dilute urine one under hydration
stress they will pass ever more concentrated urine. Drinking this would be
one step above drinking sea water and even if you did not suffer from the
first go around the second time or third when you were really dehydrated
and the urine concentrated you would be in trouble. Sterile is only half the
point--Urine (like sweat) as other have pointed out is the result of your
body ridding itself of water soluble metabolic toxins and breakdown
products- to drink these again would be to drink your own toxins and may
damage your kidneys and would require even more water to cleanse this
new insult- this would only make a bad situation worse. I have read of
some people who drink their own urine regularly (for religious or other
reasons?) but I suspect they tempor it with a healthy amount of normal
water.
As for jelly fish they are Coelenterates- Portuguese Man-of-War is a little
different it is a hydroid colony- in both cases they have a very simple nerve
net (no brain) but they do well. Mostly they blunder into prey but they do
swim purposefully and are light sensitive. As for flushing nematocyst with
urine I don't have any information, normal urine is acidic but only barely
so- maybe vineagar would be a better choice if available????
