----- Original Message ----- From: "Peter Treby" <ptreby_at_ozemail.com.au>> I found this remark: "Whistles should not be attached to your PFD zipper." > What can be the thinking here? I have a whistle attached to my zipper (I > mean PFD zipper) and I can use it OK. The whistle can be caught on a deckline while trying a self rescue and open up your vest. It is not just theory...I have had it happen with a partial opening of my PFD. I mainly now have the whistle attached somewhere else on the PFD, although I do have some old ones with the whistle on the zipper. Which reminds me, there is such a thing as a locking zipper. It costs the manufacturer more but it would be nice to have that on something so vital as your PFD. ralph diaz-- ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Ralph Diaz . . .
